Monday September 7th.

I’ve decided on a new project to do for the next few months until NYU. I’m going to build a cinema camera. Not a digital one, an analog one. It might not be pretty. It might in fact be quite ugly. But I intend on documenting the whole process on my camera and creating a film.

The camera design hasn’t been finalized, but I’m studying and hoping that I can create a camera that somewhat resembles an Arriflex 435.

My first step is understanding how a camera works. All the little pieces such as the rotary shutter, and the other stuff.
